You're a master of demagoguery. Of course the laws are based in other sources which ultimately are rooted in Constitution. While in Judaism there are many streams and communities who sometimes don't even recognize each other. And shulchan aruch was only written in like 17 century, so are you saying there was no unified system of Jewish law prior to that? ;)
Truth is, of course it's WAAAAY easier to be a good citizen that a good Jew ("orthodox one, that is). But truth is also, we're not looking for easy ways, are we?

В религии все еще сложнее. Тоже хватает своих трактовок и подзаконных актов на разный лад. И разная глубина пониманий как субботы, так и кашрута, так и других мицвот. У Виленского Гаона она одно мнение, у хасидов - иное. Требования должны быть как правила дорожного движения. Только тогда можно их будет точно соблюдать.
